Benoît Pasquier has served as the General Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Kuala Lumpur since October 2013. He oversees an in-house team of lawyers and provides legal support on matters related to commercial, corporate, disciplinary, regulatory, doping and good governance to the AFC and its 47 Member Associations and 5 Regional Associations. Benoît Pasquier is also an appointed arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Prior to joining the AFC, Benoît Pasquier worked for FIFA in Zurich where he dealt with disciplinary, ethics and doping cases and particularly during international FIFA tournaments such as FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011 and FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.
He has also been a keynote speaker at several conferences and Masters in Sports Law organised around the globe.
Among other qualifications, Benoît Pasquier was admitted to the Bar in 2007 in Switzerland and holds a Master in International Sports Law from ISDE, Madrid. In 2017, his achievements were recognised at the Leaders Under 40 Awards in London for the category “Legal & Governance”.
