Tim Ramsberger

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida, Tim played a variety of sports growing up, with a particular passion for surfing and sailing with a life on waters of Florida. He earned a degree in Business Administration from Florida State University and law degree from Florida State University College of Law. Tim also earned an MBA degree from Rollins College, in Winter Park, Florida.

After five years of practicing law in Orlando, Florida, in 1992 Tim became the Deputy Executive Director of the Orlando Venue for the World Cup USA 1994. He went on to an executive management role with the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and then headed up Business and Legal Affairs, and Third-Party Programming for Disney Sports and the Disney’ Wide World of Sports complex in Florida. He was recruited in 1993 to become the President & General Manager of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, professional CART open-wheel racing event and after a stint as Vice President of Champ Car (f/k/a CART) managing and promoting professional open-wheel through the United States, Tim then proceeded to become the President of the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (now known as the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg) under sanctioning by IndyCar.

In 2014, Tim rejoined his former boss Michael Andretti, becoming Executive Vice President at Andretti Sports Marketing managing and promoting a variety of IndyCar and Red Bull Global Rallycross events throughout the United States. In 2016, Tim was pursued to become the Chief Operating Officer at Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater with annual operating fund of $70 million and St. Pete/Clearwater Sports & Events, overseeing a variety of 3rd party programming, an elite-event funding program and capital projects funding program in excess of $1.5 million. In November of 2019, Tim was unanimously voted as Board Chairman & President of the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.

In September 2021, Tim was named as CEO & President of P1 Powerboat USA, LLC d/b/a “P1 Offshore overseeing the company’s entire offshore racing business in the United States where he continues in that role. P1 Offshore is the flagship championship of preeminent marine motorsport promoter Powerboat P1 USA, LLC, and is a subsidiary of Powerboat P1 Management, Ltd. headquartered in London, UK. The business was founded in 2002 and staged over 600 powerboat and personal watercraft (jet ski) races in 18 countries on four continents.

P1 Offshore is the promoter and sanctioning body for racing events in Florida, owns and operates P1 AquaX, jet ski racing, and manages the premier offshore Class 1 series by virtue of agreement with UIM, the international sanctioning body for powerboat racing. P1 Offshore also sanctions the Ocean Cup racing series and owns television rights to all APBA offshore racing in the US, with distribution reach throughout the US and internationally.

Tim has also been an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at the University of South Florida and Rollins College. He is a FAA-licensed private pilot, USGC-licensed boat captain and PADI Advance Scuba diver. He now lives in Treasure Island, Florida.
