Andy has worked at the BWF (the World Governing Body for the sport of badminton) since 2012, having previously worked at Badminton England.
One of Andy’s first achievements at the BWF was working as part of the team that helped para-badminton successfully achieve Paralympic status, making its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Then since 2015, Andy has been focussed on establishing, and now managing an Integrity Unit that helps protect the sport from match-manipulation and doping-related violations – in 198 member countries.
Andy has also worked with several international organisations on sports integrity issues including the IOC, Interpol and UNODC, attending conferences, workshops – and contributing to a number of written publications on the subject.
In September 2019, Andy had a short secondment to World Rugby and was part of a team of experts attending the Rugby World Cup in Japan, helping deliver ‘face to face’ education sessions to players and support staff on integrity issues. Andy has a Sport Science degree from Coventry University.
