Arun Kang

Arun Kang OBE is a leading authority on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) having worked in the field for over twenty years and completed a Masters degree in the subject area. Arun’s specialism cuts across key themes of race equality, community engagement and campaigning. An example of this includes leading Sporting Equals in eradicating the term BAME in the sport sector. He has built up the community engagement and project delivery arm of the Charity currently working in partnership with Nike, Sky Sports, Peloton, Zwift and Sweaty Betty. For race equality, Arun developed the Race Representation Index which focuses on workforce diversity data of sports organisations including national governing bodies. He also founded the first ever Race Discrimination Support Service that provides a free legal advice service to victims of racial discrimination in sport. Arun is the founder of the British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards that have become one of the key networking events in the sport sector. He also created the first-ever leadership programme to diversify the boardrooms of sport through the LeaderBoard Academy. Arun’s wider commitments include being a Board Director of London Marathon Events Ltd., a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, lead member for sport for the World Entrepreneurship Forum and a mentor for the European Social Innovation Academy.
