Brendan Williams of Dominica is the Chair of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) Athletes Advisory Commission (AAC). Appointed in March 2021, Brendan became the first Caribbean athlete in history to lead the athlete’s commission of a major International Sports Federation.
A former high jump athlete who competed for Dominica in the Commonwealth Games at Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014, is also President of the Dominica Athletics Association, Chair of the Dominica Athletes Commission, a Board member of the Dominica Olympic Committee and serves on the athletes’ commission of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC).
Brendan has been a panelist at the Host City Annual Forum, World Anti-Doping Association annual symposium, Centre for human rights and sports forum, and other regional symposiums.
He is a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA with a concentration in Project Management. Additionally, he is employed as a senior public officer within his country’s Ministry of Finance, specifically, the Central Procurement Unit.
