Henry started working at the NBA, a global sports and media organization with the mission to inspire and connect people everywhere through the power of basketball, in 2013. He began with a dual role in both the Events and Basketball Operations departments in the league’s Europe and Middle East HQ office in London. In 2018, Henry transitioned over to Basketball Operations full time and is now the team leader as Senior Director whose primary focus is on grassroots programming, basketball business operations and basketball development-oriented activities throughout the EME region.
Since joining the NBA, Henry has worked to develop the Jr. NBA League programme, a large scale youth competition which will feature 111 leagues in 33 countries across Europe and the Middle East during the 2022-23 season. He also launched the first-ever NBA Basketball School programme which is a license model focusing on long-term athlete development. He was also part of the team who developed ‘NBA in the Classroom,’ an off-court program focused on careers, mental wellbeing and physical activity for students in school across the UK, ages 11-16.
Prior to joining the NBA, Henry had a brief professional basketball career, playing in Turkey before moving back to the UK to work for Coca-Cola in the Events team on the London 2012 Olympics.
