Victoire Cogevina Reynal is the Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Mercury 13, a multi-club ownership group focused on acquiring controlling stakes in professional women’s football teams in Europe and Latin America. In March 2024, Mercury 13 announced the acquisition of its inaugural portfolio club of FC Como Women – a professional women’s football club competing in Italy’s Serie A Femminile. This groundbreaking development signifies an important step in their vision to redefine football club ownership by embracing a massive yet overlooked audience: women.
Victoire is a Greek-Argentine entrepreneur born in the United States, recognised as one of the women who are redefining the football industry globally. During her professional career, she co-founded the first female-managed agency representing Latin American players in MLS, acknowledged by FIFA in 2018. She then co-founded Gloria, a tech startup backed by Alexis Ohanian of 776 and Angel City FC, Peter Tomozawa of the Seattle Sounders, and former Verizon Media CEO Guru Gowrappan, among others. Four years later, Gloria was sold in a multi-million dollar transaction to competitor OneFootball in late 2022. As part of the transaction, Victoire joined OneFootball as its first Vice President of Women’s Football and joined the board of directors becoming the first female member. With the ambition to develop the global strategy of this emerging segment of football, Victoire quickly realised the space required a much more hands on approach which led to her resignation and consequent launch of Mercury/13.
Today, Victoire is a known activist for gender equality in football with UN Women and serves on the board of several non-profit organisations including WiST (Women in Sports Tech) and Common Goal, where she fiercely promotes the inclusion of women in football both on and off the field. As a result, she is also known as one of the most preeminent thought leaders and speakers in the women’s football space.
